About Me

I'm Cait and I am a Software Developer living on Vancouver Island, Canada.

Background

I have a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Education. I have experience working in both the financial and education industry. I recently returned to Canada after teaching in Japan for 3 years on the JET Program.

Upon my return to Canada, I decided to pursue my dream of learning to code. I started by learning data science and completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. Through this program, I learned SQL, Tableau, R and Python. I then found web development and completed the Codecademy Full-Stack Developer Program. During the bootcamp program, I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and Node.js, in addition to data structures and algorithms.

In the future, I will be focusing on learning back-end technologies including more Python, C# and Java.
